Let’s go Jeju Island! In addition to the visa-free advantage, here are some tips you should know!
This is a journey with fast decision and prepare for it in a short time, from setting a destination to buying a plane ticket and booking a hotel in under an hour! Because I was too tired to go out to relax myself, I was worried that I would be overworked and depressed. So I decide to travel!
VISA
Jeju island is visa-free and you only need to show your round-trip ticket. We take a plane and there will be a check on the return ticket before we change the boarding pass. Just hand in your passport when you enter Jeju island, and you can stay for 30 days without a visa.
CLOTHING
Jeju Island is equivalent to our north, the temperature difference between morning and night is relatively large, wear a sweater or hoodie during the day, and then add a thin coat, the temperature is very low at night, you need to wear a coat and down jacket!
TRAFFIC
The simplest is, of course, chartered a car, but South Korean taxi and chartered a car costs are relatively high, so I choose taxi when go to nearby places, and bus for far places. Actually the buses are very convenient, they could arrive most scenic spots, so you can buy a piece of bus pass.
HOTEL
We booked a downtown seaside hotel through Booking, called Whistlelark. The main reason is that I want to see the sea, so there are not many choices. The location of this hotel is not particularly good, but it is not bad either. If you don’t want to see, you can choose hotels which near the bus station. It’s convenient for you to get scenic spots.
SCENERY SPOT
Monsant & Bomnal
When many people think of Jeju island, the first thing they think of is Monsant, because its former owner was so famous. There are buses that can take you directly. The environment is super nice with floor-to-ceiling glass on three sides. It is very beautiful at sunset. Bomnal is a retro decoration with lots of colors and a swing for taking pictures. However, the environment and food inside the cafe are relatively general, the reason to the spot is that the scenery is wonderful!
Gimnyeong-ri
Gimnyeong-ri is said that there is the dark blue sea in the South Korea. When I arrived the spot, I found it is true!!!
Local people selling seafood by the sea.
Hallasan
There are several sightseeing routes on the mountain, but only two of them, Guanyin Temple and Bancheng Mountain, can reach the top. According to the previous guide: Guanyin Temple route is shorter, but the it is much more difficult to climb;the bancheng Mountain route is longer and easier to climb. But actually, the whole journey is nearly 20KM. My feeling is that there is no easy way!
